Additionally, this oil can also lighten age spots. It also has a soothing moisturizing effect on the skin. It is a circulatory stimulant and as such it has the capacity to improve the appearance of the skin since it increases the flow of blood to the skin. Plus, this oil has an enchanting aroma.


2. Tea Tree Oil

This oil is a sure remedy to ringworm, toenail fungus and warts due to its antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. Tea tree oil can also serve as a mild sedative for boils, cuts, calluses, corns, and burns.

Now as I mentioned earlier in the article, I will share essential oil recipes for specific skin conditions that you can start within your journey towards a healthier skin. 

The first skin condition we shall be considering is aging skin. Here, I have described two recipes that you can use. 


Recipe #1 for Aging Skin

You will need:

Organic Rosehip oil – 2 tbsp

Rose geranium – 5 drops

Lavender oil – 2 drops

Frankincense – 2 drops

Sandalwood oil – 1 drop

Carrot seed oil – 1 drop

Helichrysum oil – 2 drops

Amber bottle with an eyedropper – 1 glass

Instructions: Simply mix all the ingredients and put them in Amber bottle for easy usage and storage. You can also use a cobalt Boston round bottle with a black pump if you prefer. After cleaning your face every morning, apply 5 drops of the mixture and massage well.

Continue Luke this for 6 months to see the desired results. 


Recipe #2 for Aging Skin

For our second recipe for aging skin, you will need:

Glass bottle with dropper – 30 ml

Jojoba oil – 10 ml

Rosehip seed oil – 10 ml

Frankincense – 20 drops

Lavender oil – 8 drops

Vitamin E oil – 5 ml 

Instructions: Just like the first recipe, mix all the ingredients in a bottle and shake gently. Using the dropper, collect the oil mix on your fingertips, apply and massage your skin with it.

Apply it twice a day, in the morning before wearing makeup and at night before retiring to bed. Use it consistently for six months to see the desired results. 


Recipe for Skin Tightening 

Say you are looking to tighten your skin, this is a recipe you can use. You will need:

Glass bottle – 30 ml

Fractionated coconut oil – 15 ml

Vitamin E oil – 15 drops

Frankincense – 30 drops

Geranium oil – 30 drops

Grapefruit oil – 30 drops

Rosehip seed oil – 2 tbsp

Instructions: Just like the previous recipes, mix all the ingredients together in a bottle and shake gently. Ensure that you add in the ingredients in the order they were listed. Apply the mix to your skin as needed. I recommend two or three applications a week after you shower.


Recipe for Acne Removal 

Indeed, acne can prove really stubborn to get rid of even with over-the-counter medications. Sometimes, the chemical composition of these medications may have an unwanted impact on the body.

However, with a natural treatment like a recipe with essential oils, you have a safer chance of a clearer and yet healthier skin. 

To prepare this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

Roll-on bottle – 10 ml

Tamanu carrier oil – 6ml

Lavender oil – 2 drops

Tea Tree Oil – 2 drops

Ylang Ylang – 1 drop

Carrot Seed Oil – 1 drop

Bergamot oil – 1 drop

Frankincense – 1 drop

Instructions: Mix all the ingredients together just like the previous recipes. Twice daily, roll on some amount of this oil blend on blemishes for desired results.


Some Precautions to Using Essential Oils

The benefits of essential oils notwithstanding, there are precautions you must take in the use of essential oils for skin to prevent adverse effects. Some of these precautions are:

  1. You should dilute essential oils in carrier oils before use. Popular carrier oils include coconut oil, olive oil, grape seed oil, almond oil, and avocado oil.
  2. You should avoid your eye area, your lips, and mucous membranes when applying these oils.
  3. While using the oil and you notice any form of irritation please discontinue use immediately. To be on the safe side, apply the oil on a small patch and leave it for 24 hours to check for any irritation before applying it to larger areas.
  4. You should not apply essential oil on your broken skin.
  5. If you are pregnant, seek professional guidance before using essential oil.
  6. Essential oils are for topical use and as such should never be ingested.
